Roxhill Park

We are neighbors working to improve the social climate of Roxhill Park to make it accessible for all people at all age levels. We are supported in our work by the Seattle Parks Commons Program and the Seattle Parks Foundation.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

Roxhill Park serves the South Delridge and Roxhill neighborhoods adjacent to Westwood Village shopping center, and is the largest open space in this economically and socially diverse section of southwest Seattle. Over the years, our park trails and unique wetlands have deteriorated, causing fear and avoidance by the people of all ages and backgrounds who are served by this large, underused open space, the headwaters of Longfellow Creek.

Working with the Seattle Parks Foundation, Seattle Parks Commons Program, Seattle Police Department, Green Seattle Partnership and other city stakeholders, the Roxhill Park Champions, in a short time, have developed short and long-term stewardship programs, safety improvements as well as fun neighborhood-focused events that celebrate community and our special wetlands environment.

Your donation to the Roxhill Park Champions to cover budget gaps or non-qualifying expenses in our grant-funded, volunteer-run projects that will have a direct and tangible impact on our community’s ability to build on the success of our initiatives in 2019.
