Kirke Park, 10th Anniversary Celebration

Kirke Park is 10! Friends of Kirke Park want to celebrate with a new picnic table, a dedication plaque, a website, and a neighborhood party!

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

Fall of 2022 marks the tenth anniversary of Kirke Park! To celebrate, Friends of Kirke Park seek to make enhancements to the park that will help foster community — the kind of community that made the park possible. It was neighborhood mobilization, led by Barbara Hainley, that urged the city to transform this property from derelict church/commune grounds into a beautiful park. Kirke Park is a favorite destination for neighborhood families due to its excellent design and easy access.

Our celebration plans include replacing a broken picnic table in a community gather space, dedicating a memorial plaque for Barbara, and creating a website that we can use to share park news and event information. Join us on September 17, 2022 for an Anniversary Party for the whole neighborhood to enjoy!
