Friends of Deadhorse Canyon

Restoring native plantings in a 39-acre natural area in Southeast Seattle’s Lakeridge Park

Project Description

Deadhorse Canyon is the headwaters of Taylor Creek, which flows north and empties into Lake Washington. A beautiful woodland trail, which includes two footbridges, is cared for by the Friends of Deadhorse Canyon. The Friends currently maintain and are actively restoring 27 acres of the canyon. In 2015 alone, they clocked more than 1,200 volunteer hours at the park.
