Duwamish Valley Tree Canopy

The DIRT Corps wants to support the communities of the Duwamish River Basin in bolstering our tree canopy by providing free trees to our neighbors and furthering educational opportunities with our partnered mentorship crews!

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

DIRT Corps, alongside our partners The Duwamish Valley Youth Corps and Seattle Parks Foundation, have had huge successes with free tree giveaway programs throughout the South Seattle area. We recognize both the enthusiasm for greater tree density throughout our communities – as well as the need for healthier air quality, industrial urban carbon capturing, and cooling our waters for more ideal salmon habitats.

Donated funds will go towards acquiring trees for free giveaways, coordinating with partner organizations, and holding more events that would bring more tree canopy to community.
