Duwamish Valley Tree Canopy

A tree-filled Duwamish River Valley with community-minded and employed youth and young adults

Project Description

The Duwamish Tree Project is identifying the best places to plant hundreds of trees on public and private property in South Park, Georgetown, and the Duwamish River Valley. Together, DIRT Corps and the Duwamish Valley Youth Corps manage and host events, conduct door-to-door outreach, and work with neighborhood leaders and others to ensure trees find their forever homes. The project also aims to educate residents about air quality, tree planting, and maintenance, and it trains teens and young adults in tree care, maintenance, and community engagement.
