Cuidadores de Agua

Educating youth from BIPOC families in the Duwamish Valley on how to protect the Puget Sound watershed by developing sustainable projects on the Lower Duwamish Waterway.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

In this Duwamish Valley Sustainability Association project, we train youth in source control and physical-chemical parameters of water quality. We have identified 12 discharge points in the Lower Duwamish Waterway and collected data weekly at these sites. We analyze our data in Excel and create a report to share with the community to then propose a sustainable project with the most critical point of monitoring in order to protect the watershed.
