Corson-River Street Trail

Creating a safe east-west pedestrian and bike route in the Georgetown neighborhood along a currently unused access road.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

To travel through Georgetown, pedestrians and bicyclists currently have only two options, both unsafe: South Michigan Street and East Marginal Way South. We aim to convert an unused access road between the Georgetown campus of South Seattle College and the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) maintenance yard to create a safe pedestrian and bike trail with lighting, plantings, and green stormwater infrastructure. We are working closely with WSDOT, the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT), and the college to make this happen. SDOT recently completed a feasibility study for this project.
