Cheasty Trails and Bike Park

A multi-use trail system in a wooded parkland, including mountain bike trails and pedestrian access.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

The Friends of Cheasty Greenspace at Mountain View have already transformed the southernmost 10 acres of this 43-acre restoration site on the east side of Beacon Hill. A system of walking trails winds through the woods, and in the next phase mountain bike trails will be built in the largest part of Cheasty Greenspace, along with pedestrian paths and forest restoration.

The park will offer community connectivity as well as a local recreation option for mountain bike enthusiasts and urban children, youth, and families who want to engage in this sport for the first time. An ongoing environmental review process is further deepening the stewardship commitment of the Friends of Cheasty Greenspace and their vision of a multi-use urban forest in the heart of a transit corridor and Southeast Seattle’s densest and most diverse community.
