Central District Community Preservation and Development Authority

Drive economic empowerment for the historical central district community through career advancement, education and business development.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

The McKinney Center is a transformative six-story, 111,000-square-foot facility in Seattle’s Central District, dedicated to economic growth and community development. Located in the heart of the city’s African American cultural hub, the Center will offer a variety of programs focused on career advancement, education, and business development. It will house training facilities, incubators for local businesses, and resource centers for job placement, all designed to empower residents and bridge the gap between potential and opportunity.

This innovative project preserves the Central District’s cultural legacy while shaping a future of economic vitality and self-determination. Blending historical significance with modern design, the McKinney Center will serve as a catalyst for change and a nurturing ground for new ideas. More than just a building, it will be a beacon of opportunity and a testament to the resilience and aspirations of the community.
