Project Description

Cal Anderson Park Alliance (CAPA) is a group of community stakeholders–representing a variety of Capitol Hill constituencies–who have come together to envision a new community-led stewardship model ensuring a vibrant, clean, activated and welcoming Cal Anderson Park for all. We seek to foster interconnected collaboration between community groups, neighbors, city departments, and local businesses to provide holistic and aligned activation and maintenance rooted in the values of Access, Respect, Wellness, Sustainability, and Creativity.

  • The park is a perfect place to hang out on a sunny day.

  • The park is named for Washington State's first LGBT state representative.

  • Cal Anderson is in the heart of Capitol Hill, with close proximity to Downtown.

  • Cal Anderson is home to the AIDS Memorial Pathway, honoring those who died of HIV/AIDS.

  • There are lots of historic buildings and newer features integrated into the park, including the reflecting pond and the pumphouse.
