A Cleaner Alki

Building community and a culture of environmental stewardship through weekly cleanup opportunities.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

A Cleaner Alki was born as a Saturday morning beach cleanup group—we now strive to make a difference in our West Seattle neighborhoods and beyond with weekly Cleanup opportunities for a wide demographic of our neighbors.

Over the past several years we’ve taken our mission off the beach and out into the broader community to address complicated needs around Seattle. Volunteers can now choose between organized Cleanups at beaches and parks, residential neighborhoods, school campuses, business junctions, highways, industrial areas, abandoned and live encampments and illegal dumping grounds. We also offer self-led Block Drop cleanups and Sprucing events, and cater to creating custom cleanups for groups and organizations, large and small.

All of our work shares a common thread—to create cleaner, safer public spaces and a culture of environmental stewardship in the Pacific Northwest, building community through purposeful action and fellowship.
