Meet The Artists
July 9, 2025: REPOSADO at Seward Park Amphitheater
Their rhythm-driven and dynamic landscapes pull from the Caribbean, West Africa, Queens, and Seattle. REPOSADO is a collective dedicated to using the power of music to connect and transcend. Channeling the musical stylings of Fela Kuti, Fania All-Stars, Curtis Mayfield, and James Brown, they create a modern bilingual activation. Bringing heart and inspiring all to have fun and dance, this is music to honor the past, present, and future with hope, respect, and celebration.
July 16, 2025: El Guanaco at Be’er Sheva Park Cultural Stage
El Guanaco (El-G) is a Seattle emcee with deep Salvadoran roots, known for blending Latin rhythms, raw lyricism, and b-boy energy. A founding member of MAD Krew and co-founder of Cyphalliance, he’s rocked stages across the globe — from Guatemala and Costa Rica to the Dubai Expo. Locally, he has performed at the Seattle Art Museum, MoPOP, and the Angle Lake Station Roadhouse — a performance venue sponsored by the City of SeaTac and SoundTransit.
July 23, 2025: The Whags at Magnuson Park Amphitheater
The Whags are an Americana Jam band from Seattle that bring palpable playful energy to their live shows and thoughtful dedication to their recordings. They originally grew out of a group of longtime musical friends who began collaborating in the summer of 2017. Their second LP, All Along the Water There’s a Mountain Song, is due out this August.
July 30, 2025: Black Stax at Dr. Blanche Lavizzo Park Stage
Black Stax’s sound is like Miles Davis, Etta James and Langston Hughes adapted for savvy, hip-hop and neo-soul listeners. By any standard, their music is not ordinary and nothing is dumbed-down or gimmicky. It is smart music; every word carefully chosen and every song carries a message of social justice and community upliftment. Fans appreciate their eclectic, urban sound laced with jazz and 70s-era soul, which provides life’s soundtrack to the sophisticated connoisseur. A collaboration that works, Black Stax successfully blends and bends the musical genres of blues, jazz, R&B, and hip-hop. But, don’t get it twisted: Black Stax is definitely Hip Hop and Soul!
August 6, 2025: Elnah Jordan at Kubota Garden Terrace Overlook
Elnah Jordan is a soul-stirring vocalist who has etched her name in the music world with her unforgettable renditions of gospel, jazz, blues, and R&B songs. From the church choir of her childhood to the streets of San Francisco, and then onto Broadway stages, Elnah’s powerful voice and engaging style have mesmerized audiences worldwide. Her ability to interpret the vibe and energy of the room and invite the audience into her performance has set her apart as an artist. Whether she’s portraying the legendary Bessie Smith or summoning the spirit of Nina Simone, her music transcends genres, offering a unique and soulful experience.
August 20, 2025: The Residency Showcase at Volunteer Park Amphitheater
The Residency seeks to build a powerful community of young hip-hop artists equipped with the artistic leadership skills, business acumen, and mentorship necessary to become professional, cultural change makers. Through their participation in The Residency, young artists from low-income families in the Seattle area acquire tangible artistic and professional skills while also gaining confidence, teamwork, and a deepened understanding of their identity.
August 27, 2025: The Jaws of Brooklyn at Waterfront Stage
The Jaws of Brooklyn is a seven-piece live act set about winning the hearts and minds of the Pacific Northwest and beyond with their punchy vocal harmonies and high-energy performances. They emerged during the 2020 pandemic, blending 60’s garage rock and soul with modern songwriting. Full of retro guitars, soul-inspired rhythms, anthemic choruses, and 60’s girl group vocals, The Jaws of Brooklyn push their music into new spaces.
