Individual Volunteer Opportunities

We are so grateful to everyone who donates their time and talent to our community partners’ projects. Their work is extraordinarily varied in scope, and their needs are constantly changing. From trail restoration to planting new trees and bulbs, there are often opportunities to get outside and make a difference.

What to expect:

Each volunteer opportunity is different! Be sure to read the details in the event you’re signing up for and contact the Community Partner involved if you have any questions. In general, we recommend that you show up 10-15 minutes early in weather-appropriate attire with close-toed shoes and a sunny disposition!

As these events are hosted by our community partners, there will not be a representative from Seattle Parks Foundation at every volunteer opportunity. Thank you for powering our parks and public spaces!

To keep our community healthy, please stay home and volunteer on a future date if you are feeling unwell or have been exposed to someone with COVID-19.

Corporate Engagement

Looking for a way to unite your team in service?

Our partners are often looking for volunteers to support their work in parks and public spaces. If you are looking to bring your team together in a service project in partnership with Seattle Parks Foundation, we will work directly with you to build a project in a park that could use some TLC. Activities range from mulching, planting, removing invasive species, beach cleanups, and more!

The size and scope of projects varies based on the needs and desires of your team, but these curated engagements are typically for larger groups of 50-100 per park with a minimum contribution of $5,000 in support of parks and public spaces.

Contact us at info@seattleparksfoundation.org to learn about corporate engagement opportunities throughout the region.

Want to educate your team on parks and public spaces – and the power of community engagement? A representative from Seattle Parks Foundation is often available to come and speak to your organization about our work and ways to get involved. Please let us know if you’d like to learn more at info@seattleparksfoundation.org.

Seattle Parks Foundation and our community partners gratefully accept corporate sponsorship contributions. If your organization is interested in sponsoring us or one of our events, please contact us.

Can your volunteer hours be matched?

Did you know that many companies provide incentives for employees to volunteer with organizations like ours? Please use the below search tool to see if your company provides volunteer grants or Paid Volunteer Time Off (PVTO) programs and to access the forms, guidelines and instructions that you need to participate.
Matching Gift and Volunteer Grant information provided by
Powered by Double the Donation
If you don’t see your company listed and are interested in seeing if your volunteer hours could be matched in dollars by your workplace, please reach out to your HR department/representative to submit a volunteer time match through the portal they use to submit corporate matching gifts (i.e. YourCause, Benevity, America’s Best Local Charities, etc.). It is likely your corporation has their own protocol that allots a certain amount of money per hours volunteered. If possible, please instruct your HR representative to send a note either with their entry or directly to us at donations@seattleparksfoundation.org with the amount they are submitting and the partner or project name you would like this gift dedicated to, if other than Seattle Parks Foundation. This will ensure your workplace matching gift from volunteering your time goes toward the intended park or civic project. Thank you!
