As our region is growing and changing, more pressure is being placed on our rivers’ tributaries, which are critical to river health but also to the ecosystems which they support. Creeks, streams and ditches are an important part of the many challenges watersheds and communities face while also offering significant opportunities as we reimagine our relationship with them.
This workshop’s purpose is to provide new insights and perspectives on tributary management, connections with communities which foster stewardship and in turn support the environmental health of the watershed. The first part of the workshop will be presentations about different aspects of tributaries, with the second half offering individual group discussions on topics of rising interest and importance. Attendees are encouraged to freely join the different discussion groups at will, sharing information, ideas and collaborative opportunities. Attendees will also be invited to attend tours of several local creeks being scheduled in summer and fall to view and discuss each unique creek.
