We are excited to present a Climate Forum with Seattle Mayoral and King County Executive Candidates at the Bitter Lake Community Center on Thursday, October 16, 2025.
This forum is presented by Seattle Parks Foundation, Cascade Bicycle Club, Birds Connect Seattle, Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust, and Transportation Choices Coalition.
Doors will open at 6pm. The Mayoral and King County Executive Forum will begin at 6:30pm. Snacks will be provided.
Registration is free and includes the opportunity to submit your own climate and transportation-related questions for the candidates. All candidates have been invited to participate. Space is limited and will be available that evening on a first come, first served basis.
The event will be moderated by Syris Valentine, an independent climate journalist committed to shedding light on community-led solutions that reduce emissions, build resilience, and advance social justice. In 2024, Syris was a Climate Solutions Fellow at Grist Magazine, and their work has also appeared in The Atlantic, Scientific American, Smithsonian Magazine, High Country News, The South Seattle Emerald and more. Before becoming a journalist, Syris also helped to advise the city’s climate policy and funding priorities as a youth representative and co-chair on the Seattle’s Green New Deal Oversight Board.
