Join the West Duwamish Greenbelt Trails group (wdgtrails.org) for a hike (or two!) and gathering to celebrate the work Nature Consortium started nearly 30 years ago to restore the West Duwamish Greenbelt.
9:30am: Regularly scheduled WDGT guided hike starts from the South Seattle College Arboretum, at the north end of South Seattle College, 6000 16th Ave SW. Finishes by 11:00am.
11:00am: Mingling and some light refreshments with Nancy Gelinas Whitlock, founder of the Nature Consortium, and others who have been restoring the greenbelt.
11:30am: A second hike. This one will visit several of the restoration sites so we can observe and celebrate how the greenbelt has survived and thrived. Return by ~1:00pm.
Ridge to River Coalition representatives will be there. They are working on creating a vision and long-term plan to connect communities and restore the West Duwamish Greenbelt. They want to hear from you about what you love about the greenbelt and what concerns you have. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the greenbelt and to share your thoughts and ideas to help shape the future of the greenbelt.
