Friends of Woodland Park Avenue

Working together as a neighborhood to make Woodland Park Avenue in Wallingford safer for pedestrians, bicyclists and drivers.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

Friends of Woodland Park Ave North is a community group working to make our street safer for children, pets and people.

A school bus drops off children on this busy street multiple times a day with cars routinely speeding past at 40 or even 50 miles per hour. We are working with the Seattle Department of Transportation to narrow the street, slow the traffic, and make the neighborhood safer for everyone. Our new street design will create areas on each side of the street with planter boxes where neighborhors can garden together, children can play safely, and dog walkers, pedestrians, and visitors to the neighborhood can stop and chat.

The Seattle Department of Transportation has committed to completing the project no later than March of 2025. We look forward to welcoming you to a safer neighborhood!

You can help! Please consider making a matching donation of goods or cash to help improve safety in our community. Thank you.
