Volunteer Park Amphitheater Project

Replacing an aging performance stage in Volunteer Park with a new, modern amphitheater

Project Description

The Volunteer Park Amphitheater, a crumbling concrete-and-brick structure used for performances and events, needs major upgrades to meet evolving community needs. Volunteer Park Trust will demolish the current amphitheater and replace it with a thoughtfully designed modern structure that includes full ADA accessibility, a roof, all-gender bathrooms, storage space, and a resilient stage floor that will accommodate all kinds of performance, including dance. When the amphitheater is not in use, the back wall will swing open to reveal pass-through views of the beautiful Olmsted landscape and the stage will serve an attractive community gathering space.
