Traffic Circle at 26th Avenue East and East Mercer Street

Improving vehicle and pedestrian safety, especially for children, and creating safe corridors to get to local play areas and green spaces

Project Description

Madison Valley Parents & Neighbors for Calmer Streets want to improve safety at the intersection at 26th & East Mercer with a traffic circle. The Seattle Department of Transportation will install it, and community volunteers will provide the landscaping. A community celebration will be held once the project is complete. The traffic circle will benefit the community by improving access to the nearby Alder Creek Natural Area, Washington Park Playfield and Arboretum, and Prentis I. Frazier Park—all places where kids play, neighbors meet, and community is built.
