Friends of Capehart in Discovery Park
Friends of Capehart in Discovery Park has launched an important habitat restoration project dedicated to restoring native forest & oak prairie to Capehart, a 30-acre former Navy housing site. The site will be restored to green open space, meadows, woodland and native wildlife habitat. Restoration of the site will greatly enhance the natural habitats available in Discovery Park, consistent with Discovery Park Master Plan to provide quiet enjoyment of nature and scenery within an urban context. Two public trails will be installed this spring and summer to allow access for all visitors through the restored habitat.
