SUMMARY:Kubota forest work - always ivy!
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a restoration work party at Kubota Garden.\nSo much ivy! Every month\, volunteers make a big difference by removing ivy so that trees\, bushes\, ferns and other native plants have room to grow. As you will quickly see\, the ivy covers large areas of ground and is climbing up trees. We also are discovering small Himalayan blackberry plants and getting those out immediately is a priority. No experience is needed – just bring your energy and interest in making a difference! We like to show our thanks with homemade cookies at the end. \nRegister

Join the volunteer-led Lid I-5 Steering Committee on a tour of the Downtown lid study area to experience the dreadful freeway canyon firsthand and hear the latest project details. You’ll see how Seattle’s unique topography and the freeway configuration will influence design\, and walk through existing lids at the Seattle Convention Center and Freeway Park (celebrating its 50th year in 2026! And you’ll learn about the project’s latest milestones with public policy and funding that are making it happen. \nThis is the shorter tour that looks at the core study area between Madison Street and Denny Way. \nJoin us rain or shine. Comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate clothing are encouraged. This walk is approximately 1.5 miles and includes staircases and hillclimbs. \nDonations of $10 per person or more are welcome but not required to participate. SUMMARY:Daybreak Community & Land Tending
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a restoration work party at Daybreak Star. \nWe invite you to join us in tending the land at Daybreak Star Cultural Center. \nThese gatherings are a return—to land\, to care\, and to being in right relationship with one another. Guided by Indigenous leadership at the United Indians of All Tribes Foundation\, we come together to practice food sovereignty\, cultural memory\, and collective care in ways that are grounded\, relational\, and real. \nThis season\, we are tending the Forest Garden\, a living space that supports elders\, youth\, and Indigenous-centered community programs while growing a future rooted in reciprocity\, responsibility\, and long-term care. \nAll ages are welcome. You’re invited to come move your body\, tend the land\, and be in community—whether you stay for a couple of hours or the full day. Together\, we’ll engage in hands-on care of the land through planting\, weeding\, harvesting\, and seasonal projects\, while also making space for connection\, learning\, and shared reflection. \nIf you’re looking for a place to show up\, build relationships\, and grow something lasting\, this is a space to gather\, care for the land\, and imagine what’s possible—together. \nRegister

SUMMARY:Prideful Stewardship with Colman Queers
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a restoration work party at Colman Park . \nHave you relished in the goodness of Colman’s shores? If so\, it might be time to give her back some LOVE. Spend some of your Pride Month by stewarding Colman Parks’ shoreline with your neighbors!! \nLet’s help Lake Washington have the healthy shoreline habitat it deserves by clearing out some non-native blackberry and make space to plant native berries and other native trees and shrubs this fall. \nIf your body has a hard time doing physical labor\, I encourage you to still come and enjoy the park with us and maybe share with neighbors why stewarding Colman feels important to you. \nI will do my very best to provide snacks\, but it all depends on the economy and capacity. \nIt’s possible the neighboring beach\, Mount Baker\, has bathrooms however\, I’m uncertain if it is still closed from last year’s fire incident. \nThis event is for Queers and wholehearted allies that love Colman
