SUMMARY:Daybreak Community & Land Tending
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a restoration work party at Daybreak Star. \nWe invite you to join us in tending the land at Daybreak Star Cultural Center. \nThese gatherings are a return—to land\, to care\, and to being in right relationship with one another. Guided by Indigenous leadership at the United Indians of All Tribes Foundation\, we come together to practice food sovereignty\, cultural memory\, and collective care in ways that are grounded\, relational\, and real. \nThis season\, we are tending the Forest Garden\, a living space that supports elders\, youth\, and Indigenous-centered community programs while growing a future rooted in reciprocity\, responsibility\, and long-term care. \nAll ages are welcome. You’re invited to come move your body\, tend the land\, and be in community—whether you stay for a couple of hours or the full day. Together\, we’ll engage in hands-on care of the land through planting\, weeding\, harvesting\, and seasonal projects\, while also making space for connection\, learning\, and shared reflection. \nIf you’re looking for a place to show up\, build relationships\, and grow something lasting\, this is a space to gather\, care for the land\, and imagine what’s possible—together. \nRegister

SUMMARY:Fall Network Gathering - Tree Equity Network
DESCRIPTION:As a major initiative of Seattle Parks Foundation\, the Tree Equity Network (TEN) exists to bring together community-driven organizations\, caring community members\, and government agencies to address gaps in funding and coordination around tree canopy projects. We strive to look at climate injustice and tree canopy loss holistically\, to identify and drive sustainable solutions that ensure continued investment in the areas most impacted by climate injustice. \nOur in-person gatherings are an opportunity for us to connect with one another and learn alongside one another. This time\, we will have the chance to hear from King County on the inner workings of two key components of their urban forestry and climate resilience work: the Strategic Climate Action Plan and the 30-year Forest Plan. We are also so excited for a special presentation on the Tree Canopy for Climate Resilience (TCCR) Granting Program! \nRegister \nLearn more about Tree Equity Network here.

SUMMARY:Rooted in Reciprocity (DNR sponsored)
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a restoration work party at Seward Park. \nCaring for the land that cares for us. \nThe land around us has been scarred by pollution\, carved over by development\, and fragmented by development expansion. To live in reciprocity means to give back\, to tend\, and to restore what has been lost. Are you in good relations with the land? By stepping into this work\, we have the chance to give back\, repair habitats\, support native wildlife\, and strengthen our connection to the Land. Restoration is our way of returning care to the land that has long sustained us. \nJoin us at Seward Park Audubon Center for Root in Reciprocity: Tend Together. Together\, we’ll be engaging in either the removal and repurpose of introduced species\, plant native flora\, and restore habitats that sustain birds\, pollinators\, and the broader ecosystem. All tools\, guidance\, and materials are provided\, just bring your curiosity\, care\, and willingness to get your hands in the soil. \nFunding for this project provided by the USDA Forest Service\, Urban and Community Forestry Program in partnership with State of Washington Department of Natural Resources\, Urban and Community Forestry Program. \nRegister

\nRegister

SUMMARY:Wildflower Meadow Creation at Discovery Park
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a restoration work party at Discovery Park \nThe south meadow is dominated by mainly 4 exotic grasses. This near monoculture is not great for wildlife habitat. We will be creating a small area devoid of grasses for planting 30 different species of native wildflowers to support our many pollinators and birds. We are using the recommended methodology to create new wildflower meadows according to the Xerces Society and Northwest Meadowscapes. The process will include site preparations\, planting\, and spreading seeds. \nRegister

DESCRIPTION:Join us for a restoration work party at Beaver Pond Natural Area on TC. \nThis pull and dig event focuses on a solid patch of ivy awaiting removal\, but other invasives found along the way\, like blackberry\, need to be dug out also.
