Seward Park – Restoration Groundwork in Old-Growth Forest

Side-by-side comparison of fern die-off at Seward Park.

Do you want to restore the forest at Seward Park?

Seward Park’s Old-Growth forest has some bare ground – from overuse, and from the sword fern die-off. We are going to move a LOT of mulch to two such bare area. We will plant these bare ground areas after the deep mulching has partly decayed to create rich, moisture-retaining soil.
