Join us for a restoration work party at Longfellow Creek GS: Central.
With your help, the Longfellow Creek green space is evolving into a thriving native food forest. We are getting ready for planting by removing the remaining invasive plants and if we have plants delivered by this event’s date, then we will also be planting! Most of the remaining invasives include blackberry, ivy, and morning glory.
Come learn about the importance of invasive plant removal, the established plants we’re saving, and the native species we are preparing to plant. Walk away with pride, knowing your efforts support local ecology, community, and overall good health.
Longfellow Creek is part of a vital urban watershed that beavers and Coho salmon have returned to. If interested, we can dive deeper into the benefits of our restoration efforts and the native plants we’re reintroducing, including: Cedar, Maple, Elderberry, Nootka Rose, Huckleberry, Salmonberry, Ferns, Salal, and much more.
