People love parks. And it is the people in parks that bring the vibrancy, activity, and community that is so important to successful parks. At Seattle Parks Foundation we work with people of all types who show their support in many ways through our programs and projects. Here are a few of their stories....


Featured Story: A Reminder of Home

benchLincoln Park has been a part of the life of my family for more years than I care to admit.  Okay, 55 years!  The wonderful thing is that in all those years, despite the other major changes in the Seattle area, the park has remained essentially the same.  It’s remained a noble friend, a refuge, a connection with nature, visible evidence of the change of seasons, and a place to exercise, meet friends, walk the dogs, and relax.

What's better than a picnic?

The day after my father died, we went on a picnic. The day was a lovely sunny and warm fall day. We packed a lunch and headed down to Magnusson Park.  It was such a therapeutic time for all of us.  The mountains were out and ducks were flapping and quacking, dogs were being walked and people were strolling along.
