Current Projects In the seven years since it was founded, private donations and grants have enabled Seattle Parks Foundation and community partners to complete 24 park projects, including three brand new parks, nine improvement projects, and three restorations of historic park features. The Parks Foundation currently has several projects in the works, including our bench and tree programs, our linear park report Bands of Green, and Lake Union Park - a 12-acre waterfront park in the center of Seattle.

South Lake Union Park Lake Union Park Seattle Parks Foundation raised $20 million to develop 12 acres of green space in the heart of Seattle into a magnificent waterfront park for the whole city. View Project >

Waterway 18 Waterway 18 Our first waterway project along Lake Union offers a rare opportunity to improve public access to the lake, restore salmon habitat, and make a neighborhood park safer.

Lake People (Xacua'bs) Park Lake People (Xacua'bs) Park Lake People Park, a park and natural habitat restoration area, was made possible through a generous donation of land in Rainier Valley and the dedication of countless volunteers. View Project >

Bailey Gatzert Children's Play Area Bailey Gatzert Children's Play Area Seattle Parks Foundation is working with teachers, neighbors, parents, and students, to renovate the children's play area at Bailey Gatzert Elementary School. View Project >

West Seattle Junction Plaza Junction Plaza Park Seattle Parks Foundation has partnered with teh West Seattle Junction Association to improve this new park in one of Seattle's urban villages. View Project >

Bench Donation Program Bench Program Seattle Parks Foundation works with donors to coordinate donation of benches, picnic tables, and other park furnishings to Seattle parks.

Bailey Gatzert Children's Play Area Yellow Swings Program The Parks Foundation now enables individuals to support the installation of ADA accessible swings in Seattle's parks through their donation. View Project >

Bands of Green Chesiahud Lake Union Loop Seattle Parks Foundation's Bands of Green report identified the opportunity for a 6-mile pedestrian and bicycle path around Lake Union. The Parks Foundation is now working the the City to implement this recreational amenity at the geographic center of Seattle.
