Seattle Parks Foundation is partnered with Sacajawea Elementary School PTA to reactivate a dilapidated school yard at the school. The goal of the project is to transform a cracked blacktop surface to a healthy green space that is safer for physical activity, stimulates environmental learning, and provides an inviting gathering place for the neighborhood.

In 2010, the Parks Foundation formed a technical assistance agreement with the community as they raise funds for the design phase of this project. The community hopes to transform the upper playground into a public amenity with expanded passive and recreational space.
