MOMentum

Seattle Parks Foundation has partnered with momentum to install fitness equipment near play areas in parks. Les Grove Park in Auburn, WA is the site of the project’s pilot installation. Auburn Parks and Recreation has agreed to install and maintain the equipment and momentum has begun fundraising to reach their initial goal of $20,000.

momentum is 100% volunteer based and the co-founders have a goal of implementing 10 other momentum sites in Washington State.

Here's the vision behind the work of momentum:

Being a mother in today's nonstop world leaves few moments for personal growth and fitness. By the time a mom is done taking her kids to school, shuttling children to games and practices and helping with homework, there just isn’t always time to take care of herself.

Feeling that all moms should have the opportunity and resources to exercise and care for themselves, Seattle natives Paige Green Dunn and Kelly Singer created momentum with the idea of bringing fitness equipment to the parks of Seattle and around America; the kids play under the watchful eye of mom while she gets in some exercise!

Each momentum outdoor gym offers low-impact cardio equipment and strengthening machines. momentum outdoor gyms are eco-friendly: fully powered by people and thus requiring no electricity!
