Karen E. Daubert, Executive Director Karen E. Daubert, Executive Director Karen has over 15 years experience in parks policy, advocacy, and funding issues. Karen worked as an attorney for the King County Prosecutor's Office where she focused on property acquisition, parks, and real estate. She was appointed to several citywide boards and commissions, including the Planning Commission, the Seattle Board of Parks Commissioners, the Pro Parks 2000 Committee, and the Pro Parks Oversight Committee. Karen also founded and chaired a citywide advocacy group, Friends of Street Ends, was a founding board member and board vice president of the Central Area Development Association, and co-chair of the Central Park Trail Project. She received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Washington and a law degree from Seattle University. Karen@seattleparksfoundation.org

Kimberly Bowen, Deputy Director Kimberly Bowen, Deputy DirectorKimberly manages fund development for Seattle Parks Foundation, including the Lake Union Park capital campaign, and oversees operations and communication. Kimberly is a Seattle native whose fundraising experience is grounded in years of marketing, strategic planning, and community activism. Previously, she served as Fundraising Chair for the Flo Ware Park in the Central District, Loaned Executive Community Campaign Fundraiser for United Way of King County, Co-Chair of Riverview Community Council in West Seattle, and volunteer for Sierra Club's Forest Planning Campaign. Kimberly earned a Master of Science in Management while working as a marketing/communications manager at Microsoft. Kimberly lives with her husband and twin girls just two blocks from Seward Park. Woody Wheeler, Program Director Woody Wheeler, Program Director Woody oversees the Neighborhood Parks, Green Connections, Tree Donation, and Planning and Policy Programs. Working with the board and staff, he helps strategically select, implement, and steward neighborhood park and Bands of Green projects. Woody brings more than 18 years of experience in nonprofit management with The Nature Conservancy, National Audubon Society, and as a nature tour guide. He holds degrees in Environmental Education and Geography from Western Washington University, is a Certified Interpretive Guide and a Master Birder. Woody and his family live near Ravenna Park. Recently, he donated the first tree to the Parks Foundation’s new Tree Donation Program in honor of his mother who passed away in 2006. Woody@seattleparksfoundation.org

Leslie M. Martin, Finance Director

Leslie M. Martin, Director of Finance and OperationsLeslie has 18 years experience as a finance, accounting and management professional, starting her career as a CPA with Price Waterhouse. She then moved to the private sector and held positions as Controller and Director of Finance for national and international companies. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Boston College. Leslie has lived on both coasts and recently returned to Seattle from London, England. She, her husband and two boys live in Seattle and enjoy the bountiful green spaces the city has to offer. Leslie@seattleparksfoundation.org


Todd Burley, Communications Director Todd Burley, Communications Director Todd manages the communications for the Parks Foundation, including public relations, media, website management, print and online publications. He received his B.A. in Advocating Sustainability from Fairhaven College, and his Masters of Environmental Studies from The Evergreen State College. Todd has honed his communication skills at North Cascades National Park, Sightline Institute, Homewaters Project, and North Cascades Institute, and operates his own nature photography business. Todd lives in Fremont with his wife and dog, and enjoys finding the forgotten natural areas in Seattle and remembering why it is called The Emerald City. Todd@seattleparksfoundation.org

Isaac Cohen, Development Assistant
Isaac Cohen, Development Officer Isaac started with Seattle Parks Foundation as an AmeriCorps volunteer working on Bailey Gatzert Park and now supports development activities such as the Annual Fund and Lake Union Park Campaign. He graduated from Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, NY, where he majored in Studio Art. Living only a few blocks from Volunteer Park, you can find him there on most summer afternoons where he will be playing frisbee, scrabble or reading a good book.Isaac@seattleparksfoundation.org

Mike Kelly, Neighborhood Parks Coordinator Michael Kelly, Neighborhood Projects Manager Michael coordinates the Neighborhood Parks Program, working with community members to connect Seattle’s historically underserved communities and neighborhoods to vital urban green space. Prior to joining the Parks Foundation, Michael served with AmeriCorps/VISTA in Seattle schools for two years. After completing his term of service, he continued working with students and their families as a life skills mentor. Michael graduated from Emerson College in Boston with a degree in Visual and Media Arts, specializing in Audio and Radio production. Michael is thrilled to help communities connect to Seattle’s beautiful parks and green spaces. Michael@seattleparksfoundation.org

Jessica Shawver, Office Manager
Jessica Shawver, Office and Program CoordinatorJessica coordinates the popular Bench and Tree Programs at Seattle Parks Foundation and also manages our office operations. She received a degree in Environmental Science with a focus on Social issues from the University of Idaho. An Idaho native, Jessica has always enjoyed the wildlands and green spaces in the Northwest. When she’s not in the office, Jessica enjoys hiking, camping, and exploring Seattle’s great neighborhoods. Jessica@seattleparksfoundation.org

Jennifer Silva, Development Officer
Jennifer Silva, Development Officer As part of the Development Team, Jennifer works to raise funds for the Parks Foundation, including managing proposal writing, database operations, and editing the newsletter. She has Masters and Bachelors of Science degrees from Stanford's Earth Systems Program. Her prior positions include: Project Manager for a GIS based training project at the Nicholas School of the Environment and Earth Sciences at Duke University and Volunteer Coordinator at Shelter Network in San Mateo County, California. A lifelong soccer player, Jennifer enjoys many of Seattle's playing fields and organized leagues.  She lives with her husband and new baby on Phinney Ridge.
