Lake Union Park Opens!
Wednesday April 30th

at Lake Union Park
Come celebrate with Seattle Parks Foundation and Seattle Parks and Recreation at the
Lake Union Park Phase 1 Grand Opening. Enjoy live music, demonstrations, a salmon bake and picnic lunch, boat rides, and prizes on this new green space on the shores of Lake Union.

Cheslahud Lake Union Loop
On April 23rd, Mayor Nickels announced the name for the new 6.2-mile trail that Seattle Parks Foundation and the City are creating around Lake Union - the "Chesluhud Lake Union Loop." Cheslahud (pronounced Ches-La-Hud), a friend of Seattle founder David Denny, was a Duwamish Chief who lived on Lake Union.

Waterway 18 Receives Grant
The Parks Foundation would like to thank the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation for their support of the revitalization of Waterway 18. The award of $31,000 brings total contributions to $92,500, nearly halfway to our goal! You can get can involved too!
