Saturday, September 25th Seattle Parks Foundation was proud to celebrate the dedication of Lake Union Park under sunny skies with our partners The Center for Wooden Boats, Museum of History and Industry (MOHAI), The United Indians of All Tribes Foundation, and Seattle Parks and Recreation.

This free Public Celebration drew more than 20,000 neighbors and families from around Seattle and the region for an unforgettable day of festivities on land and water including:

* Musical performances on two Stages
* Model boat races in the new Model Boat Pond
* Native American canoe displays, paddle songs and traditional salmon barbeque
* Great Seattle Food vendors, root beer garden and Farmer's Market
* Environmental education and history trail tours
* Fitness Field, paddling and sailing demonstrations
* Parade of Seattle mascots, children's activities and much more!

Lake Union Park Grand Opening Community Celebration

Green Tie Gala - Save the Date

Friday, September 24th – Seattle Parks Foundation’s inaugural Green Tie Gala fundraiser was held under a big tent in Lake Union Park and featured a Northwest meal catered by Chef Tom Douglas and music and dancing by the Michael Benson Band.  Grammy Award winning crooner John Proulx serenaded the sold out crowd during cocktail hour.
